After a kidney transplant, Renal Failure also need to pay attention to live a healthy lifestyle and avoid triggers that may damage the kidneys. Here are some suggestions:

Taking medicines as prescribed. Do not stop medicine on one's own or modify the doses or regimen without consulting the physician.

Give up smoking. Quit smoking as soon as possible.

Sexual intercourse should be avoided till the abdominal incision wound is completely healed (usually takes 4-6 weeks). Females should avoid getting pregnant at least for one year after transplantation.
