Some Functions of Kidney To Affect Your Health

2018-08-25 10:30

As to the functions of kidney most people don’t know exactly, they only know the kidney is one of the most important organs in human body and it can provide more energy to everyone. As a doctor i will show you what the kidney can work in your body.

The kidney regulates the body’s blood pressure slowly, while the nervous and cardiovascular systems regulate the body’s blood pressure faster. The mechanism by which the kidney regulates blood pressure in humans is as follows:

Mechanism of how kidney regulates body fluid to human blood pressure; The kidney adjusts the metabolism of water and salt to change circulating blood volume and cardiac output so as to achieve the goal of regulating blood pressure. When the blood pressure increases, the circulating blood volume and cardiac output of the body will also increase, the corresponding amount of water and salt excreted by the kidney will also increase, the urine volume will increase, and the excess water in the body will be excreted. The discharge of electrolytes, especially sodium, will also increase, which in turn will affect the blood volume and cardiac output of the body, and the blood pressure will decrease accordingly, and vice versa.

How does the kidney regulate the blood pressure of the human body? Regulation of renal prostaglandin on blood pressure; Renal prostaglandins are mainly produced by renal medulla and collecting tubes. Their main physiological functions are to relax blood vessels, reduce peripheral resistance, and inhibit the reabsorption of sodium and water by proximal convoluted tubules. Reduce blood volume and lower arterial pressure.

When hypertension occurs, renal prostaglandins can dilate renal cortex blood vessels and increase blood flow, while renal medulla blood flow decreases and blood redistribution occurs to counteract the influence of vasoconstriction. And increase the excretion of sodium and water, causing blood pressure to drop. The decrease of prostaglandins in circulating blood of patients with renal hypertension may be one of the causes of the disease.
